British Lop Pigs
The pigs had access to a whole field in which to explore and root around. Shelter and shade was provided by the mature oaks.

The rough grass provided lots of hunting for tasty roots and grubs.

Mud from the wallow is the sunscreen of choice.


We raised our first pigs from weaners last year; three Berkshires and three British Lops.  British Lops are the rarest breed in Britain and coincidentally we have a breeder not ten miles from us. 

This year we have taken a further four British Lops to bring on to pork weight.  Although it seems contradictory you're helping rare breeds to survive by eating them. Not every piglet in the litter will conform to the breeding specifications but they are still wonderful to eat. Buying them for pork provides the breeder with the finances to keep the breed alive - a full grown pig will eat £1000 of feed a year.

We'll be taking our pigs to a small, local abattoir on Friday 9th July and we'll collect the meat the following week.  You may then either collect from us or we can organise delivery.  Please order via the site (below) or contact us direct on:
