British Lop Pigs We raised our first pigs from weaners last year; three Berkshires and three British Lops. British Lops are the rarest breed in Britain and coincidentally we have a breeder not ten miles from us. This year we have taken a further four British Lops to bring
on to pork weight. Although it
seems contradictory you're helping rare breeds to survive by eating them. Not
every piglet in the litter will conform to the breeding specifications but they
are still wonderful to eat. Buying them for pork provides the breeder with the
finances to keep the breed alive - a full grown pig will eat £1000 of feed a
year. Buy our Pork We'll be taking our pigs to a small, local abattoir on Friday 9th July and we'll collect the meat the following week. You may then either collect from us or we can organise delivery.
